Absence & Disability Management
TI's Absence & Disability Management website provides information and resources from the Absence & Disability Management (ADM) team at TI. ADM team members are experienced in managing situations that involve a TIer missing work for an extended time. The team also handles accommodations for ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) requirements as well as providing resources and education to help TIers achieve optimal well-being and performance. .

Information on the website includes:
  • Requesting disability pay continuance (DPC)
  • Reporting an on-the-job injury
  • Long-term disability (LTD) benefits
  • Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA)

ADM counsultants are available to assist with any work-related or non-work-related health issue for TIers. To locate the consultant who supports your organization, look on the ADM website.

Emergency evacuation planning
Employees with temporary or permanent disabilities should work with their ADM consultant on an emergency preparedness and evacuation plan. To locate your ADM consultant, look on the ADM website.

Temporary parking permit
Temporary medical parking permits are issued by the Site Security Traffic department and allow employees with temporary medical conditions to park closer to TI facilities. You can request a parking permit by completing a form located on the Worldwide Facilities website. Additional information on how to obtain a long-term or permanent disabilities parking permit from the Texas Department of Public Safety is included on the form.

Ergonomics
TI employees should work with an ergonomic consultant and their ADM consultant to ensure that office accommodations are ergonomically assessed to maximize their safety and well-being. Visit the TI Ergonomics Information Center for links to request an assessment, locate your consultant or read ergonomic tips.

Facilities access
Issues with access to TI facilities should be reported using a STARS request. Requests can be submitted to the Central Help Desk and directed to Facilities using the "Product" drop-down box.

Social Security
The Social Security Administration* offers an online website that provides support with Disability & Supplemental Security Income (SSI) in addition to many other services. It contains information on how to qualify and apply for disability insurance, the SSI program, the Ticket to Work program and support for adults that are disabled before age 22. The Social Security office is encouraging employees to file for benefits online, as this is the most efficient way to conduct business with the Social Security office.

For TIers on long-term disability insurance, Fidelity Services will facilitate your Social Security income application. Contact the Absence & Disability Management (ADM) consultant for your organization for additional information on this service. A list of ADM consultants is located on

Exceptional Caregiving
The Exceptional Caregiving* website provides essential information on a range of topics relating to children, teens and young adults with special needs. It is designed to help families manage their work and personal responsibilities more effectively. The Exceptional Caregiving site provides essential information on a range of topics relating to children with special needs and points families in the right direction to learn more. The site includes information and resources on topics such as:

  • Special education services
  • How to connect with other parents
  • Post-secondary education
  • Work-family integration
  • Health information and health insurance
  • How to be an advocate for your child

The website* requires a user ID and password. The temporary user ID is tirecw2 (lowercase) and the password is tirnew3 (also lowercase). Once you have logged on using this temporary user ID, follow the prompts to create a personal ID, password and profile information.

The ABLE Diversity initiative is a TI-sponsored initiative whose mission is to increase awareness and understanding of disability issues at TI, provide resources for TIers who face challenges, and to promote inclusion, accessibility, opportunity, recruitment and retention of talent in the workplace while supporting TI's business objectives. Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and Work-Life Resources
TI offers a free employee assistance program through Magellan that can help you through changes or issues at any stage of your life, whether they be work-related or personal. The EAP provides free counseling sessions using a solution-oriented therapy approach to problem resolution and a comprehensive online library of work-life resources including articles, tools, webinars/podcasts, calculators, self-assessments and more. Work-Life topics include childcare, senior care, daily needs, education, adoption and special needs. You can find additional information on the EAP* website or by calling TI HR Connect at 888-660-1411 and selecting the option for employee assistance programs, then option 1 to speak to someone in person. You can also call Magellan directly at 800-888-CARE (2273).
