Researching your current year medical costs

For instructions on researching your current year medical costs, click on the name of your insurance carrier below.

If you're in the Kaiser Northern California HMO, contact the company's customer service group to see what information is available at www.kaiserpermanente.org.


BLUE CROSS BLUE SHIELD
1. Go to bcbstx.com/member/.

2. Click "Log In" at top right of page.

If you haven't registered before on the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas website, click the "New User? Register Now" link and follow the instructions. You will need to know your ID number, which is on your BCBS Texas ID card.

Register now! Once you've entered your information, it may take some time to receive access authorization.

Once you're logged in to your Blue Access for Members page, you should be able to see your visits and claims summary information in the center of the page.

On your member page, you should be able to:
  • Review your history of medical visits and claims.
  • Print past explanation of benefit (EOB) statements.
  • Download your medical claims history to an Excel spreadsheet.

Be aware that the medical claims history will only show the billed amounts and not the negotiated rates (the amount the provider is contracted to charge). In order to obtain the actual amount the provider charged and the plan paid on your behalf, you will need to open your EOB statements, which you can access on the medical claims summary page.

Please note! If you use the billed amounts instead of the actual amounts paid to providers to determine what health plan is right for you, your analysis may be overinflated.

CVS CAREMARK (prescription drugs under BCBS HDHP and PPO)
1. Go to caremark.com.

2. Log in under "Member Sign In."

If you haven't registered before on the CVS Caremark website, click the "Register Now" link and follow the instructions. You will need to enter:
  • The nine numbers in your participant I.D. from Blue Cross Blue Shield/CVS Caremark card (do not include any letters that precede the numbers)
  • Name, birth date, gender, relationship to cardholder and e-mail address.

3. Once you're logged in, click "View Prescription History" on the right side of the page.

On the Prescription History page, you should be able to:
  • Review all of your prescriptions ordered or purchased through CVS Caremark.
  • Print a record of your past year's prescriptions. For further assistance, call CVS Caremark Web Customer Care at 800-241-2784.

Cigna Copay Plan
1. Go to mycigna.com.

2. Log in at top of page with your Cigna user ID and password.

If you haven't registered before on the Cigna website, click the "Register Now" link and follow the instructions. You will need to enter:
  • Your name, birth date and home ZIP code as listed with TI
  • Your Social Security number (entered without dashes or spaces) or the Cigna ID shown on your ID card (starts with the letter "U")
Register now! Once you've entered your information, it may take some time to receive access authorization.

3. Once you're logged in, click "Claim and Account Balances" at the bottom of the page to view your claims.

From this page, you should be able to:
  • Review your history of medical visits and claims.
  • Download your claims history to an Excel spreadsheet.
